Welcome to the new Web site of Saddle Mountain Unified School District. We are located in Tonopah, Arizona, west of the White Tank Mountains. We are a small but growing community, serving students in more than 500 square miles in Tonopah and Buckeye.

Our dedicated staff and faculty members serve about 1,500 students in three elementary schools and one high school.

We are constantly pursuing the best in education and implementing strategies and curriculum that will provide the best learning environment for our students.

• All schools made AYP in 2009.
• All schools have active PTOs or Booster Clubs.
• Auditor General reported that SMUSD administrative costs per pupil are low compared to similar-sized districts.
• Auditor General reported that SMUSD Plant Operations costs per square foot are significantly lower than similar-sized districts.
• Our community voted to continue an M & O override and to support Bonds for the reconstruction of Ruth Fisher and safety and security improvements at all schools.
